Our main weekly service starts at 10.30 am every Sunday and lasts for 75 to 90 minutes. Visitors are very welcome and we are used to having many children in the congregation.

Services are informal, relaxed and normally led by an ordained minister, with active roles for many other members.

A typical meeting includes:

  • Worship - led by a music group

  • Prayers - offered by local Church members

  • Sermon - relevant to real life

Collection bags are passed round during each service but many members of the congregation prefer to give direct from their bank accounts. No-one is ever pressurised to put money in the collection.

Bible version

The Bible translation we use is the New International Version (NIV).

Children

A creche is available for children under three years old whose parent(s) are attending the service. Parents supervise this creche on a rota basis.

On most Sundays, children aged between 3 and 13 have their own classes during part of the service. The only exception is that occasionally we have an all-age service.

Young people aged about 14 years upwards take part in the whole of each service and have their own meetings on other occasions.

Communion

On two Sundays of each month, the service includes Holy Communion. All Christians who have been admitted to communion in the Church of England or any other denomination are invited to receive the bread and wine.

Children and adults who are not communicants may either:

  • come up to the communion table for a prayer of blessing, or

  • stay in their seats for this part of the service.

Visitors are welcome to attend any of our services, whether they take part in communion or not.
